Our Story

Physics Education
Done Right

PhysicsFundamentalsHub exists for one reason: physics is fascinating, and too many students never get the chance to experience that. We're fixing that — one concept at a time, completely free.

Why We Built This

The conventional approach to physics education has a fundamental problem. Textbooks present the results — the equations, the worked examples, the definitions to memorise — without ever explaining why those results are true. Students learn to plug numbers into formulas without understanding what those formulas describe. That's not physics. That's arithmetic with Greek letters.

We built PhysicsFundamentalsHub because we believe the concepts themselves are genuinely understandable. Newton's laws, thermodynamic entropy, wave interference, the uncertainty principle — none of these require a PhD to grasp at a deep level. They require clear, honest explanation that builds from intuition to mathematics rather than throwing equations at a reader and hoping some of it sticks.

Every guide on this site starts with the question "why does this happen?" before touching a single equation. We think that's the right order. Apparently, so do the tens of thousands of students who use this site every month.

Our Mission

To make rigorous physics education accessible, interactive, and genuinely free for everyone on earth.

Quality physics education has historically been locked behind expensive textbooks, university tuitions, or ad-cluttered websites that prioritise clicks over comprehension. We think that's wrong. Physics is the foundation of every technology that shapes modern life — and understanding it should not depend on the size of your tuition budget.

PhysicsFundamentalsHub is free. Not free-with-ads, not free-to-browse-but-pay-to-practise. Free. No account required. No paywalls. No compromises. That commitment does not change.

What Makes Us Different

We're not a video platform, a flashcard app, or a problem bank with terse solutions. PhysicsFundamentalsHub is a written-first, depth-first physics library. Every guide is structured to build a complete mental model — from the observation that motivates the question, to the conceptual explanation, to the mathematics, to the edge cases and misconceptions that trip people up.

We complement that with interactive simulations that let you manipulate variables and see what happens — not read about what happens. There's a qualitative difference between knowing that launch angle affects projectile range and watching the parabola change in real time as you drag a slider. We believe in that difference.

Our Values

🎯

Depth Over Breadth

We'd rather explain one concept so thoroughly it never needs re-reading than cover ten concepts superficially. Every guide earns its length.

🔓

Radically Free

Physics education behind a paywall is a problem we're actively solving. No subscriptions, no premium tiers, no content that requires payment.

🔬

Accuracy First

We'd rather have fewer guides that are rigorously correct than more that contain errors. Every claim is checked. Mistakes, when found, are corrected quickly and transparently.

🧠

Intuition Before Equations

Mathematics describes physics; it doesn't replace understanding it. We build the conceptual model first, then show how the equations follow from it.

🌍

Accessible to All

Written for students at every level — from someone who just heard Newton's name for the first time, to an engineering student who wants to understand thermodynamics properly for once.

📈

Always Improving

Every guide is reviewed and updated as we find better ways to explain things. The 2026 version of any page is better than the 2025 version. That's the standard.

The Curriculum

PhysicsFundamentalsHub covers the six foundational branches of physics that every student encounters:

  • Classical Mechanics — Newton's laws, kinematics, energy, momentum, rotation, and gravitation
  • Energy & Thermodynamics — heat, work, entropy, the four laws, and statistical mechanics foundations
  • Waves & Oscillations — SHM, sound, the EM spectrum, interference, and the Doppler effect
  • Electromagnetism — electric fields, circuits, magnetic forces, Faraday's law, and Maxwell's equations
  • Optics — reflection, refraction, lenses, diffraction, interference, and polarization
  • Modern Physics — special relativity, quantum mechanics, atomic structure, and the Standard Model

Each branch contains multiple in-depth guides, formula references, and worked examples. We're continuously expanding both the depth and breadth of coverage — see the roadmap for what's coming next.
